The Bribery Act crops us a lot on this site, we have not done any training around this yet. HR seem to think that it is covered through our Corporate Comms emails that ask people to state what gifts they have received but I am not sure this is sufficient. What sort of training are other people doing?
Many Thanks

Bribery Act
You are quite right but the good news is that,Coalition Government decisions not withstanding, we are increasingly being asked to provide the training. Taking a gamble with then unknown political decisons, our for mat has been well received. I think you will find you are soon knocking at an open door!

I’m worried to hear the views of your HR departments it is an unfortunate fact that there is a great deal of ignorance around the Bribery Act.
Your company should conduct a risk assessment and then put in place proportionate procedures linked to your risk. As a company you need to have put in place ‘Adequate Procedures’ which would provide a defence for you, should you be threatened by a prosecution. See the http://www.thebriberycentre.co.uk for details of these. These Adequate Procedures rely heavily on your company providing appropriate Training to staff about the act and how they should operate as a result of it – the level of this Training and its objectives will be designed as a result of your risk assessment – from general what Bribery is, to specifics if you are for example an exporter or travel company. Again look at the Training Area of the Bribery Centre. Hope this helps!
