LMS Consultancy

Your type of enquiry about Learning Management Systems are now becomming more and more common, hence why companies like MMT offer LMS Consultancy services. This type of service can assist in selecting the appropriate system, implementation and customisation advice and integration with exisiting applications/content.
If you surf the web and check out the LMS vendors own sites (eg http://www.docent.com) you will pick up free information. You can also check out sites where you can compare opposing systems (http://www.c2t2.ca/landonline/compare2.html)
You could visit trade shows like e learning Islington on 6/7 June and gather more info.
You can also send a RFP to the LMS vendors and get them to send their proposals to you.
If you would like to know more about MMT could help you drop me an e-mail (gpugh@mmt.uk.com)

Seek independent advice
Doing a feasability study, e-learning implememntation plan and as part of that, choosing an LMS is a very complex process. With great respect to the other contributor, I would question whether going to an exhibition or looking at LMS manufacturer’s websites would be beneficial.
In my experience (I have helped and advised several companies and organisations on this very subject) every organisation’s needs are completely different and while in some cases you could collect a host of information you will be no nearer your goal.
Without wishing to plug myself the best way of achieving what you want is to bring in independent help who can look at your needs and produce a report which will fit the right products to your company’s requirements.
Trusted Adviser
Guy,
I work for Hewlett-Packard Education Services and along with our technical training portfolio we offer innovative e-learning solutions to give an integrated approach.
As part of this portfolio we have become increasingly involved in identifying, implementing and integrating LMS systems on a global basis and have partnerships with leading players in the field.
If you are looking for a trusted adviser to understand your requirements, have the relevant relationships with LMS vendors to procure the solution and have an in house consultancy division to implement and integrate the LMS with legacy systems HP will be pleased to talk with you.
