Finance for Non-Financial Managers CBT

default-16x9

Can anyone recommend a really interactive CD Rom course especially for new managers covering the main topics usually seen on Finance for Non-Finacial managers courses.. I'm looking for a programme that could be used internationally.

Many thanks

  1. Finance for the terrified
    Dave,
Some years ago, I used some software provided by Ivy Software which proved popular with non-accounting managers in the organisation that I was with at the time. I remember that it was reasonably priced for the results obtained at the time. I cannot say how useful it would be for an international audience, although basic principles will be similar. See http://www.ivysoft.demon.co.uk/index.htmlfor further details.

  2. We are using Xebec
We are currently installing a European web based e-learning facility (although all material has started life as a CD Rom course). We are using Xebec for the management skills area and they have good modules aimed at Junior to middle managers. We are also loading the senior modules developed with PWC.
Language is the issue which is why we went with Xebec, because they have English(UK&USA), German, French and Italian in the Finance modules.

The following will give you an idea on what is there.
    Introduction
The Importance of Money in Business
    Introducing the Money Cycle
    Understanding Working Capital

    Understanding Cash Flows
    Using Cash Flows to Manage
    Managing Working Capital

    Effective Budgeting

    Preparing a Budget
    Budgeting for Different Business Conditions
    Allocating Indirect Costs
    Using a Budget to Manage

  3. Lguide.com has reviews of finance courses.
    David,

I encourage you to take a look at our reviews of finance courses at Lguide.com. We rate, review and analyze each course listed on our site. Following is a link to a list of finance courses we’ve reviewed: http://www.lguide.com/subcat.cfm?CATID=12&SCID=1201

While these are web-based courses, several of these vendors offer CD versions as well. I know, for example, that Competence Software has a CD course on finance.
