Can anyone recommend a supplier who provides training covering the skills required to author effective Computer Based Training programmes? I'm not looking for training on the use of the software tools - more about the methodology concerning instructional design, how the course should flow, questioning and testing techniques etc.

Courses running in 2001
Dear Neil
As part of our continued expansion in the field of E-learning content authoring, Metis Training & Development Ltd is providing a course on Instructional Design Techniques – particularly as applicable to electronic media – in early 2001.
This will not deal with any particular software tools but will focus on the design of content.
For further information on this, or any matter related to E-learning, contact Antony Dyson or Jan Kelly on 0161 875 0100.

Practical instructional design
Hi Neil,
My colleague Nigel Harrison has published 2 books in the McGraw-Hill Training Series on instructional design and we have been running
in-house workshops for trainers for the last 9 years. It’s an absolutely key skill for designing effective cbt and e-learning.

and Lancaster University do a modular MA programme.
