News agency Ananova has reported that leader of the Amalgamated Engineering and Electrical Union (AEEU), Sir Ken Jackson, has warned that there are upto three million jobs at stake in the UK because of the strength of sterling.
Sir Ken's comments follow in the wake of the warning by Nissan UK Chief Executive to a treasury select committee that the future of the Nissan plant at Sunderland is at risk because of the strength of sterling and UK non-membership of the Euro.
Sir Ken is reported as saying that Nissan's problems are only the tip of the iceberg.
