Can you suggest imaginative exercises about health and safety in office environments?

default-16x9

I am designing a management training course and will be addressing the topic of health and safety in an office environment.  I would like to use some imaginative training exercises to raise awareness of the topic.  Any help appreciated.

  1. Create online questions, use graphics, multimedia
Using Question Mark software you can easily create your own questionnaires on any subject. Using graphics and
mulitmedia you can make your excises more interesting.
The software has easy to use wizards letting you create
nine different question types including ‘hotspot’ where
you can move a marker over a graphic to select a specific
area. Please see a Health & Safety questionnaire which shows
examples of what could be achieved.

  2. H&S Fun Activity
In a recent H&S Training Course I attended the trainer set up a “room” (kept behind closed doors) and gave out a checklist. We then all entered this “room” and had to check off all the H&S points we could find. This included open flex on a small fan heater, a slightly torn rug that was a trip hazard etc. It made H&S “REAL” for us and helped us to become more aware of what we should be looking for and what might be the consequences of these issues. The exercise can be made as easy or difficult as required for those attending.

  3. Health & Safety Games and Self-study workbooks
We have a number of aids for creative health and safety training – H&S games for trainers and a set of ten H&S self-study workbooks – please email address for more information.

  4. Introduce Brain Gym & Eyerobics
Brain Gym is set of exercises developed by Dr Paul Dennison & his wife for tuning up the brain for work. I strongly recommend Drink Water, Neck Roll, The Owl, Brain Buttons, Deep Breathing, and Cross Crawl.
For Eyerobics, drawn from the work of Natural Vision Improvement, which is also a full set of exercises, I would strongly recommend Palming, Sunning, Near/Far Focus and Peripheral Visioning.
All the above exercises are very good for people who spend a lot of time in the office and on computers. The exercises keep the brain and the eyes, which are the gateways to information processing and idea generation, nimble and healthy.

  5. Sunny eyelids
If the sun is shining, close your eyes and face into the sunlight. Try to see how many patterns you can make within your eyelids. Cover your eyes with your hands before opening your eyes slowly.

  6. Late advice may sometimes be worth the wait
We have literally dozens if not hundreds of activities and exercises for Office H&S training from many sources within the UK. This forms part of our library of what is probably the most comprehensive source of actual, physical training materials in the UK.
