Given the strength of the pound and to remain competitive in this market, can anyone give me some ballpark figures for what the daily rate would be for a training designer and classroom trainer in South Africa?

Generally the charges vary between R4000 to R10 000 per day.

Depending on the reputation, qualifications, ect of the trainer, fees of between R4000 to R10 000 per day are charged. Some trainers include expenses in the over all charge, where as others expect expenses incured during the training to also be covered.

I contacted my equivalent (Education Manager) in our SA office and he replied with these rates:
Training Designer +- R3500-R5000 per day depending on scope and duration of training design and development.
Classroom Trainer +- R8000-R15000 per day depending on scope and duration of training.
Exchange rate kinda mucks things up.

I am a independent training consultant, and the average amongst my colleagues is R4000 – R8000 per day.
I have NEVER known of anyone receiving more than R12000 per day ….. except motivational speakers who can command that in an hour !
