Can anyone recommend a finance for non-financial managers programme/course thats suited to the Oil & Gas service sector, especially in the Asia/Pacific part of the world ?
I'm looking for a course that can be run out of either Singapore or Jakarta. Flexibility is essential for any course providers and the staff are working in a range of cultures throughout the Asia/Pacific region.
Thanks
David Sherrit

Business finance for petro-chemical industries
David,
My company has worked for the last 15 years with companies such as Caltex, Shell, BP, Mobil,Total in South Africa as well as, in the Far East, with SPRC(Star Petroleum Refinery Co, Thailand) & KOA Oil(Japan), all in the area of profitability margins, asset utilisation, ROI, and working capital management. Additionally we include material on the international economics of the oil industry.
Would this be of help to you? Look forward to meeting you on e-mail.
Kind regards

Finance & Commercial Subjects
If you havn’t found a provider yet perhaps I can help. I run Finance for Non-Financial Managers training and have done so for many years. I also run a range of other training courses on commercial and people subjects. Have a look at my web site at http://www.fbsconsultancy.co.uk. I have a lot of experience teaching and training other cultures and in travelling outside Europe; Shell in Damacus being most recent. I have taught Asian post graduate students at Warwick University. If you think I can help give me a call on 0118 966 5347 or e-mail me, I’ll be delighted to talk to you informally. I used to work in the Petrochemicals and Energy industries.
running a programme in this area at the moment
Hello David
I am currently piloting a business simulation game in Australia designed to introduce business awareness and bring about change in the way people operate in their own immediate area to maximise profit. If this sounds as though it may be of interest, give me a call. 01295 256161
COMPANY FOR FINANCE TRAINING
There is a company called MDT International which runs a programme called Counting the Cost – Finance for Non-Accountants, plus a suite of other courses. These are aimed at the oil and gas industry and they run in Kuala Lumpur (as well as Aberdeen, London, and Miami). I have not used them myself, but have heard good reports of them. They can be contacted at info@mdtinternational.com. (Please say I recommended them!).
