Gender awareness workshops help Proctor and Gamble to manage

default-16x9

The Financial Times reports that Proctor and Gamble have been rolling out a successful workshop programme based around gender differences in leadership styles.

The sex@work.shop half-day sessions, which were designed and run in-house by one male and one female member of staff, ask delegates to examine the differences between workplace behaviour for men and women. For example, where the former usually looks for win-lose in an encounter at work, the latter will look for win-win.

Proctor and Gamble say that both men and women benefit from attending the sessions by learning that both male and female styles of communicating have their place in different situations.

The course has been shortlisted for an award by Opportunity Now, the organisation working to promote the recruitment, retention and development of women in the workplace.
