Equalities Awareness outside the classroom?

default-16x9

Dear colleagues,
I am employed by Telford & Wrekin Council in Shropshire as Equalities Trainer on a limited term contract. I provide ‘One day’ and ‘Two half-day’ Equalities Awareness Workshops for the Council’s staff. This is classroom based and has proved very successful though challenging for participants and myself as trainer at times.
I need to explore how to cater for staff that work shift patterns or only a few hours a week and who can’t attend day time sessions. I am currently looking at Computer Based Training and Workbook Desk Learning. I am aware that each method has its own limitations but may be appropriate for certain elements of the workshop.
For many reasons Equalities can be a contentious topic and is probably the first time participants have looked at the issue. Structured discussion and small group work have proved effective in achieving increased awareness in a non-confrontational or dictatorial way. Can this meaningfully be achieved through e-learning? Has anyone experience of doing this successfully?
Regards,

Sid Edwards
