The British Association for Open Learning are holding a one-day conference for open learning practitioners in Edinburgh on 1 November.
Flexible Learning - Edinburgh 2000 aims to provide the opportunity to keep abreast of technological innovations and workplace application online, share the latest information on key topics and initiatives in open and flexible learning, network with leading practitioners across all sectors of training and education, utilise best practice within your own organisation and access marketplace trends and developments to inform your future learning strategies.
The plenary session, Technology - The Reshaping Revolution, will be introduced by Nicol Stephen, Deputy Minister for Enterprise and Lifelong Learning, Scottish Executive and will examine how new technologies inform new strategies and ways of working. Speakers at the session will be Dr Ian Heywood, Director, Centre for Open and Distance Learning - The Robert Gordon University and Frank Pignatelli, Chief Executive -Scottish University for Industry (SUfI).
