On 3 July the Employment National Training Organisation launched the Learning Network, a network for NVQ assessors and verifiers to work towards consistency and developing best practice. The network has developed out of a project as part of a UFI/Adapt sponsored programme, and is being established in response to positive feedback from assessors contacted as part of the project.
Anyone holding or working towards one of the 'D' qualifications in verification and assessment of NVQs can join the network, which costs £30 for annual membership.
The Employment NTO is responsible for the 'D' units, together with NVQ standards for personnel, training & development, health & safety and trade union standards. It intends to use its links with accrediting bodies, awarding bodies, government and employers on behalf of the network.
Membership Benefits include telephone and e-mail helplines, a website with discussion forum, newsletter, regional, sub-regional and local events and an annual conference.
To join, contact Madelene Tailby or David Morgan at the Employment NTO.
