On Monday 14 August, OPRA, the Occupational Pensions Regulatory Authority, runs its third web-based virtual question time. Participants are invited to submit questions about Opra's latest annual report to Opra Chairman John Hayes, Chief Executive Caroline Instance and Opra Board member John Bowman.
The on line session will last from 2 pm to 3 pm and during that time questions submitted, together with answers, will be posted live onto Opra's website. Any questions that don't get dealt with during the session itself will be answered later and the answers posted on the site.
Opra Chief Executive Caroline Instance commented:
“ ...we see this as a cost-effective alternative to an AGM. The event is open to anyone and because it's on-line it takes up less time for attendees. We are holding the event a little later this year so that people have more time to read through the report.”
To take part, simply log on to the Opra website between 2pm and 3pm and follow the links from Opra's home page. It's very simple to participate, and no special technology is needed other than a basic PC or Mac with access to the Internet.
Opra's last virtual question time dealt with the switch from criminal to civil sanctions for late payment of employee contributions to pension funds and late production of audited accounts.
