Editor's Note
=============

A somewhat jaded TrainingZONE returned from WOLCE this week,
laden with brochures proclaiming the latest in 'unique online
learning'.

E-learning appears to have been a victim of its own hype, having
been billed as the answer to tedious, time-consuming and
expensive classroom training. What's evident to those able to
take a more balanced view is that it is simply going to become
another method of delivery, rather than replacing any existing
methods outright.

We've no glossy brochures to offer but we are working to enhance
your news service with a new series of watch pages. These will
enable you to see at a glance how progress has been made with
some of the major government initiatives.

*Question of the week*
Advice on freelance adult guidance and development work
-------------------------------------------------------
I am interested to know if anyone has any suggestions for how I
utilise my adult guidance skills in a freelance capacity? I have
worked in education/training for over 15 years and have a degree
in education/training specialising in guidance in addition to
psychometric and transactional analysis certification etc. I am
very keen to develop my own consultancy offering personal
development training and guidance. All advice gratefully
received!
