PROVISION OF IT TRAINING FOR PUBLIC LIBRARY STAFF

Birmingham City Council invites organisations to make an application to be considered for inclusion on a select list of tenderers for the provision of a range of Information and Computer Technology (ICT) training for the Leisure Services Department’s Public Library staff.

The service to be provided entails the management and delivery of training in ICT skills to 752 staff in various locations across the city. Training solutions will need to match the ‘Expected Outcomes’ detailed in the ‘New Opportunities Fund (NOF) ICT Training for Public Library Staff’ guidance booklet, and enable continuous learning beyond the contract period.

The successful contractor will offer a variety of training methods appropriate to the individual needs of the staff detailed in a training plan and be able to manage and administer the whole training package, either directly, or through approved subcontractors.

Evidence of the organisation meeting the criteria detailed in the NOF ICT guidance booklet for approval by the NOF as a training provider is essential.

The contract will commence on 1st May 2000 and be let for a maximum period of three years.

In response to such application, a questionnaire will be supplied. Closing date for the return of the completed questionnaire will be 1500 hours on 22nd February 2000.

Invitations to those selected to tender will be issued during February/March 2000 with tenders returned during March 2000.
