Ufi has announced the successful bidders for the planning and delivery of learndirect services in England and Wales for nine industry sectors over the next two years.
The six organisations responsible for the delivery of learndirect and the nine sectors they will cover are:
* ASSA Training and Learning Ltd
Automotive components; automotive skills; science and engineering; audio visual communications
* CITB Construction Skills
Construction
* Knowledge Base UK Limited
Sports and recreation (Skillsactive)
* LANTRA
Environment and land-based industries
* NWLCC Limited
Road haulage and distribution (Logistics)
* Manchester Enterprises
Process manufacturing industries (Proskills)
Known as ‘hub operators’, the seven organisations with which Ufi has contracted will work with Ufi and the Learning and Skills Council (LSC) in England, and Education and Learning Wales (ELWa) in Wales to tackle the skills and productivity needs of their sector.
The contracts last from August 1 2004 to July 31 2006.
