The Training Evaluation Toolkit is the 25th book from the prolific pen of Leslie Rae and would be a welcome addition to any trainer's library. No single subject seems to inspire as much debate in our profession as does the subject of evaluation and it is clear that many trainers find it difficult to separate the theory from the practice. This toolkit then, written by an acknowledged expert, with its practical solutions for evaluating training, could provide the perfect answer.
The toolkit contains 41 different paper-based training evaluation tools which may be used as they stand by simply photocopying the required document or an innovative alternative is provided by the included CD which enables the tools to be tailored to suit individual organisation requirements. Materials contained in the toolkit may be reproduced for education/training activities without the need to obtain special permission from the publisher. Thus the toolkit becomes an invaluable resource for the busy trainer who can simply 'dip in' for the appropriate evaluation tool.
The evaluation tools are grouped into the following 15 different categories:
All the above are also available for immediate download from the Echelon web-based virtual learning centre as individual sets at £15 each.
Useful guidance notes are given for all the tools providing succinct information about the purpose, timing, audience, participants, materials, description and method to be adopted.
The toolkit won't make you an expert in evaluation, nor will it provide answers for higher level evaluation issues, but if you want instant access to a wide range of evaluation instruments that work 'off the shelf' or that may be customised to meet your exact needs, you need look no further.
Highly recommended.
