Forum
Mike Kelleher represents ECLO in the FORUM for European Research into Vocational Education and Training. The work of FORUM is divided into different workpackages. Mike leads the work on Learning in Learning Organisations. The focus of the workshop in Evora, Portugal last weekend was on this issue. If you would like copies of papers presented to this workshop they can be found on the FORUM web site. These papers will be revised over the next few months in the light of feedback received during the workshop and FORUM will publish a book on the subject later in 2000.

Society for Organizational Learning
Mike participated in a workshop in France from 12-14th November. Participants came from India, Norway, Hungary, Sweden, France, UK, Brazil and the US. The workshop concentrated on creating a structure for the emerging SoL International. This workshop established many of the wishes and aspirations of the group who all committed to attend a further workshop in January to examine options for a new legal entity.

Branding HR
According to Shari Caudron, If you want HR to be perceived as more strategic, more valuable, more credible, more whatever, you need to start thinking like a business with a product and market your overall brand image. Take a look at her ideas on the TrainingZone web site.

Coaching
Here is an interesting article on the Linkage site on the use of the Birkman method of coaching.

Knowledge Management and Organisational Learning Conference
Linkage is organising their second conference on the subject in London on 28th February 2000 to 2nd March. Guest speakers include Peter Drucker and Ikujiro Nonanka.

Communities of Practice
Etienne Wenger has produced an interesting article on learning as a social system. This was originally published in The Systems Thinker.

Dialogue
The Dialogue Group in the US has produced an interesting article on the subject of Dialogue. This is based on the work of Glenna Gerard and Linda Ellinor, whose book `Dialogue' is a good introduction to the subject.

E.C.L.O. Board
The E.C.L.O. Board will meet in Brussels on December 11.

Best wishes
This is the last E-Learner of the year. There will not be an edition on January 1st. Let me take this opportunity to wish to all the very best for Christmas and, of course, this rather special New Year.
