I am an MBA student at Henley Management College and would appreciate your help with the following request: for my dissertation I have decided to look into the practical usefulness of the concept of Emotional Intelligence (EI). While research has proved emotional intelligence to be a viable theoretical concept, it is not clear yet, if this concept is of any help to HR practitioners around the world. Do companies use specific EI-competencies or the entire concept of emotional intelligence? Are they aware they are testing EI competencies? How many companies use EI already or intend to use it in the foreseeable future?

The main part of my research is a questionnaire to HR practitioners across Europe which tries to establish if and how companies use the concept of emotional intelligence in their recruitment, assessment, performance management and training & development schemes. It shouldn't take any longer than 15 minutes to complete the questionnaire.
