Editor's Note
=============
This week's news is likely to be dominated by events at the CIPD
conference and exhibition at Harrogate - the largest such
gathering of HR and Training professionals in Europe this year.
Throughout the week we'll be bringing you reports, reviews and
updates, all summarised at
https://www.trainingzone.co.uk/item/29486
If you're planning to go, please do visit us in Hall M at stand
M51. Do bring any news you'd like other TrainingZONE members to
hear about - we'll be adding to the site on a daily basis. We'd
also like you to join us for the official launch of HR Zone at an
informal reception from 3.30 on Thursday.
This week, there's plenty of reasons for TrainingZONE to
celebrate alongside the launch of HR Zone, with a new 5 million
GBP investment for TrainingZONE's parent company Sift Group Ltd
and the launch of TrainingZONE Canada. New features are also
rapidly coming on stream, with a new fully searchable Courses and
Events Directory with online booking capabilities. Together with
our partner Thinq's resources, this gives access to a total of
350,000 learning events. There's also a revamped Contracts and
Tenders area complete with the facility to send alerts direct to
your e-mail inbox, and an ever-growing Toolkit download directory
- a great opportunity to put your training resources online.
Watch this space for further announcements next week!

Community features: Any Answers? questions of the week
=====================================================
How much time is needed to develop web-based training?
------------------------------------------------------
Can anyone provide an estimate of the time it should take to
develop one hour of web-based training? I remember that there
used to be a widely used estimate of something like 100 hours
development to 1 hour courseware for CBT and would like to know
if a similar figure exists for WBT.
Thanks
Jane Hodges
Other questions posed this week:
- Paul Hobbs is looking for an update on ITOL
- Tom wants information on freelance work abroad
- Jo Braddock needs to know how to get audience involvement in a
