I have developed a behaviour profile based on the personal competencies model for NVQ level 3&4 in management.
It consists of a set of behaviour focussed questions for each competency based on each of the behavioural indicators.
This is then used to determine what development needs a candidate may require based on their behaviour profile.
It works really well as an intial diagnostic tool at the start of a programme, but clearly it could be used at any stage. It can be used also as a management development tool for people even if they are not choosing a qualification as part of their learning. The interesting thing is it begins to really take an objective look at a managers attitude and of course behaviour/s in certain situations. This can be used as great leverage to help a person asses their management style and the impact it has on their team (great for coaching).
