BAOL holding conference in Edinburgh

The British Association for Open Learning BAOL will be holding their first annual conference on Flexible Learning in Edinburgh on Wednesday 1 November 2000 at the Edinburgh Conference Centre, Heriot Watt University.

They have already run such seminars at the University of Warwick and will use the same theme, e learners online - new frontiers for learning.

Frank Pignatelli, Scottish University for Industry (SUfl), Dr Ian Heyword, from the Centre for Open and Distance Learning and The Robert Gordon University will be reviewing how the use of new technologies how to inform new strategies and ways of working in learning provision. George Auckland, BBC Education will cover an industry perspectice on where technical innovation might lead customer expections into the next century. There will also be representatives from the Royal Bank of Scotland and Lauder College.

The aim of this conference is to keep at the forefront of developments thus enabling delegates to be able to use this information, expertise and best practice within the UK. The emphasis will be on interactive workshops and larger plenary session to bring together the different sectors.
