Following the recent announcement of £9m additional venture capital funding, financial training specialist Wide Learning has appointed Martin Marlow to spearhead the expansion of the company’s range of on-line finance courses and develop a new range of value added services.
He joins Wide Learning as vice president of product and marketing with an expanded marketing team to drive growth, especially in UK & USA. Wide Learning, whose clients include four of the UK’s five largest banks, is one of the world’s largest e-learning companies and has further plans to double in size by end of the year.
Aged 37, Martin was previously Director of E-Commerce for Blackwell Ltd, where he directed the development of Headfiller.Com - a new e-learning portal for the group - as well as running the e-commerce division worldwide.
Commenting on his appointment Martin said, “The e-learning market is beginning to show its potential to clients and investors alike. Wide Learning has built a robust platform of blue-chip clients and senior management experience from which to expand both in the UK and internationally and I am looking forward to building on this success with an expanded product range.”
Chairman and co-founder of Wide Learning, Jesse Norman, commented, “Martin has 18 years management experience in the print and electronic information industry and we are delighted he is joining the senior management team to help us drive our next phase of growth.”
