How to Buzz!?!

default-16x9

I have run out of ideas for buzz sessions. I have to do a 15 minute buzz that is fun and exciting. I can't spend the whole time looking at sales stats, so was preparing to look at this for only about 5 minutes. Any idea what the content should be for the remainder of the session? Thanks for any help!!

  1. More than enough..
If the session only needs 5 mins of input why not let them off for a coffee for 10 mins?
As trainers we should attempt to only use the time we need not pad material out to a time table.

What are the objectives of the session? or objectives that the group/ team are required to achieve?

What about engaging them to see what they would value ‘buzz’ inputs on? can they contribute too?

  2. Thanks!
Hi Mike, thanks for your help. The team can contribute. The company use buzz sessions as “sessions to discuss sales, issues and to excite the team about being on the phones and working as a team.” As you can imagine, no-one in the team wants to spend the whole session discussing sales!

  3. How about discussing their recent experiences?
    Hi Zany

How about asking for examples of recent calls they have dealt with that were a) brilliant and b) challenging? What can they learn from each other about what is effective and how to deal with challenging/difficult customers? You could ask a team member to facilitate the discussion so that it is non-threatening.

Let me know if you would like to discuss this further?

  4. Storytelling
If “Sales Issues” includes how to deal with customers or problems, why don’t you turn it into a storytelling session? “War stories from the trenches”: what was you most exciting / challenging / dumb / hilarious / [your adjective here] sales talk?
Why did you come into sales? What is good about this job, this product, this company, this team?

  5. Body language that costs business
I couldn’t believe what a can of worms I opened when I stumbled accross Breast etiquette, Handshake etiquette and Kissing etiquette. It’s really fun to talk about and getting other peoples perspectives is quite enlightening. It’s highly interactive and guarantees laughs.

For an energiser, you can’t beat the banana song. I sent my kids to a conference in New York this summer and they learned it there. I’ve even had a room full of grown men doing it and loving it. You can’t just launch into it, you need to set up an appropriate approach for it to work properly. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=M-BWuwP0oto
