I work for an existing client running a bespoke 5 day project management programme.
The IT function uses Risk Based Project Management (RBPM) as a standard tool / methodology.
I am trying to find out more about this as a standard, or is it an internal methodology only. My client is unable to answer me!
Has anybody heard of this methodology and if so can you fill me in please!!?
Thanks

Risk Management tools
Andrew,
As far as I know (and we train people in Risk Management and Project Management) the term “Risk Based Project Management” is a generic term and not a specific methodology. The risk methods I know of and use are ABCDE Assumption Based Risk Management tool and PPA (Potential Problem Analysis). Both are used within project management at differing levels and differ hugely in complexity. We have some other risk tools but they are very specific to NPD projects and other scenario planning tools which can be used with Monte Carlo simulations to generate alternate ‘environments’ – but these are very specialist applications. Happy to help and if you describe the RBPM approach maybe I could put a ‘name’ to it?
