I am looking for e-learning design software, I work in a small caribbean island where my clients only have limited internet speeds and limited access and very limited budget. So I dont want to use a web based hosted package that could blow their whole budget. I have webdesign and flash software and already design customised learning packages, but wish to find a dedicated simple solution for my client with a professional look.
My requirements are for a
1 LMS + course design software.
2 Ability to create interactive customised learning content.
3 WYSIWYG interface
4 for use on CD/DVD or local server
5 Very cost effective
6 Import powerpoint and flash
Does anyone know a software package (on CD/DVD) that can be used for this. £1000,s we dont have

Course design & lms software
Hi Keith,
We have the same issue and have just purchased Camtasia. It covers most of your points. It costs: $320 USD. It is an impressive little program and has a great forum site. (No, I don’t work for them)

e-learning software
You might take a look at LERSUS easyContent on their website at http://www.lersus.de (it’s a German site, but the content is in English).
I found it very easy to use and it has lots of features. A couple of years ago it was £400.
Hope this helps.

Virtual College May Fit The Bill
We use the Virtual College. Very easy to use learning system – compatible with flash / powerpoint.
Their contact details are http://www.virtual-college.co.uk/
I’ve found them extremely flexible and all costs are based on users plus a standard system cost.
