Self Guided Study – Roles & Responsibilities

default-16x9

I am currently involved in designing a self guided training program. Essential to the success of the program is a clear and functional appointment of roles and responsibilities for all parties involved. The main roles identified are Trainer, trainee, manager, mentor, quality assessor.

Does anyone have any experience of switching to a self guided approach to training and if so what advice do you have in relation to how to get the best from all parties involved.

By self guided I assume you might be referring to open or distance learning – if that is indeed the case then it can be a lonely path to follow and good communication with the tutor/trainer and quality assessor is essential to keep up the motivation and the momentum – good working relationships between the trainee, line manager and mentor will also help. In short what you need is a good support structure.
