When a client was looking at implementing a learning management system I put together an interactive powerpoint slide show highlighting a lot of the language and processes as a way of developing understanding for HR teams and other managers – might be a useful start??

If you send me your email I can send you a copy – or you can download it from the downloads section on http:www.trainerbase.co.uk

  2. I can help!
    Richard,

The common issues with e-learning is that too often it takes the form of e-reading, with many constricting boundaries and insufficient options to pursue unique learning needs.

That and the crazy cost of licences mean a high uptake of an unfamiliar method is needed to make it pay – this happens too few times I find.

The good news is I can help.

I can give you (and anyone else seeing this) evaluation access to a really high quality, very felxible set of pc-based management and organisational videos viewed from your monitor with full transcripts and support material.

I am using this on coaching assignments, and to strengthen my structured programmes. They provide ulimited access per user for 12 months.

These can be bought on a single unit basis – so no costly up-front payments!

Let me know if this interests – email me off my website homepage: http://www.andrewgibbons.co.uk

  3. Use Wikipedia and RSS feeds
    Hi Richard,

I’m sure you can find a decent primer on e-learning by Googling the term! A good start however, is Wikipedia – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E-learning

What I really wanted to mention was that there are many e-learning sites and blogs that publish RSS feeds. If you are new to RSS, it basically allows you keep abreast of developments in e-learning without spending time actively hunting down the information – just install an RSS Reader (my fave is RSS Owl) and add the feeds. I have about a dozen really good e-learning feeds, email me (markab@epic.co.uk) and I will send you them in an OPML file, which is a standard format that any RSS Reader will be able to import.

  4. e-learning
As Andrew has put his hand up here I can only support him – he has a great deal of experience in ‘bite size’ learning and a great reputation.

Where Andrew differs from others is that he has a focus on application of learning rather than knowledge aquisition – very rare in the world of e-learning in my experience.
