I am currently covering maternity leave for a Learning & Development Internet Project Manager, and have discovered this week that as part of this role I am required to facilitate Lessons Learnt sessions for all the Product Projects in my division.
Previously I have only done very short sessions on 'What went Well?' - 'What didn't go well?'. However, this session is scheduled to be at least half a day and requires feedback on the project team relationships as well as the overall process.
I was therefore wondering if anyone can offer any advice on how to get the best out of this session?

What went well and what did not go well is all you should ever do.
This allows the team to run the session and all you do is keep a light hand on the tiller.
When contemplating a longer session I assume that you have more to discuss.
Take the project and divide it into finite lumps. It could be that the project consists of separate operations or it may be divided by time interval.
Take a different significant person from each segment and ask them to talk the rest of the group through that particular piece. The whole group will then be brought into the full story and the lessons are richer with the benefit of many different perspectives.
