I am currently working on an empowerment project at a steel manufacturing plant of 120 employees. The project encompasses all of the developmental issues that form a part of empowering a workforce including communications, leadership etc. I intend to make the training as 'hands-on' as I possibly can & would be most grateful for any suggestions re practical exercises I can give treainees to do.
I would also like to say that this is the first time I have had the temerity to ask a question, & to let everyone know that I find this web-site the most valuable one I have encountered on the web. Thank you, thank you & thank you.

blindfold minefield Exercise
The blindfold minefield exercise is one that has a lot of potential learning, one area of which is that of empowerment (well actuially it is moret hat the managers become redundant in a “control” sense so the only way to improve the performance is through empowerment. It could be what you are looking for…if you aren’t familiar with it please feel free to call me and I’ll talk you through it. 01252 843459

Empowerment Exercise
One exercise could be to create certain situations and then ask teams to determine what responses would be on a range from poor to excellent.
They could report finding in a five minute presentation to colleagues.
They would then have a format for dealing with a situation and have practiced communication skills.
