Training for People with a Learning Disability

default-16x9

I am theNational Volunteer Strategy Manager for MENCAP. Additionally I am taking my training qualifications through the CIPD. I have decided to base my work based project around accessible, inclusive training for people with a learning disability and need some help.

Although we currently develop accessible training as an organisation, I am extremely interested in hearing new and innovative ideas such as training using multi media or drama with people with a learning disability. I would also like to hear from anyone using 'e-learning' in an accessible way. It would also be great to have more examples of current accessible training being used by groups and in services around the country.

If anyone is interested in the outcomes of this research please let me know.

Hope you can help, I can be contacted on jo.sullivan@mencap.org.uk
Many thanks

  1. Try a search
Just in case you haven’t tried it, this question has been asked on this site in various forms a number of times in the last six months or so: just type disability into the search box.

  2. Accessible e-learning
    Jo,
the multimedia development team here are currently working on a number of accessible programmes for both government departments such as DWP and JobCentrePlus, as well as developing FE materilas for Becta.
We are always happy to talk about screen readers, mouse keys, and many other accessibility issues.
