We currently run many courses and want to get this content on the web to sell to reach an overseas audience. Does any one have a supplier of LMS or similar that will
1. host our website
2. provide a means of converting power point into a suitable on line format
3. advise on how to make the content as valuable and interactive as possible.
Does any know of any particular companies in this arena - there seem to be a lot and I am struggling to differentiate: Good and bad experiences welcome

Converting to Online
If you are interested particularly in converting PowerPoint presentations to an online format, the products from Impatica (www.impatica.com) went down a storm at the recent e-Learning exhibitions.
Having been on both sides of the fence – customer and supplier – I realise that the marketplace out there is crowded. Especially, when it comes to converting content, there are just too many vendors who think it’s just an exercise in converting content to HTML. Yes, this is one way to do it, but as you say, the opportunity should be taken to enhance the presentation.
You can do some nice indexing with the Impatica product – more from their website.
Of course, the cost differences can be significant when comparing simple conversion to adding interactivity and additional functionality. And hosting charges and uesr-access fees can be a mindfield.
Having encountered similar issues, my advice is to be clear in what you require and to compare a number of solutions in terms of meeting your objectives, but also in a way that protects the budget. Some companies seek a large upfront commitment, which can be difficult when you may not be sure what the uptake could be. The best partner for you is one that will accept/share some of the risk and you may wish to consider a low-start contract, where your outlay is low to begin with, but if it proves successful, you pay more later.

Many ILT companies are making the move to embrace online learning as a way of shortening the training lifecycle and increasing their delivery capability without significantly increasing their resourcing costs pro-rata.
Have you undertaken research though from your clients as to whether they would buy such a blended training product?
Have you decided what parts of your learning are best suited to online delivery?
Have you considered using virtual classroom technologies to deliver some ILT remotely?
Have you considered using pre & post testing to gauge learning gaps?
Have you considered creating your own knowledge portal with articles and information?
Have you considered e coaching support for after completing your learning programmes to resolve any learner issues?
You may like to consider making an individual responsible for this role, if so I would be interested to talk to you. My experience is 6 years in technology based training and having worked in both corporate and supplier sectors I would have valuable experience to offer you.
