Prof Quals for Managers – Distance Learning

default-16x9

Currently developing a management development programme for first line managers in a financial services sector. As part of the structure to the programme, we want to include a professional qualification (thinking ILM, CMI that kind of accreditation).

The challenge is that we want it to be a distance learning programme - does anyone have suggestions for suitable providers at Level 3 and Level 5.

Have thought of all the usual sources and done some Googling but in the interests of saving my time (and probably my sanity) there might be one or two of you in this forum who have some knowledge and experience of this!

Thanks in advance.

  1. Distance Learning
Hi Jo, I’m curious as to why distance learning is the preferred method here. Reason being it’s quite a tough and potentially isolated way to learn although I can see the value as there is little impact on the daily work schedule. Would be interested to learn a little more. Thanks!

  2. Additional Info
    Okay… a little more info..

    1) The candidates won’t be isolated – the accreditation will part of a full development programme which includes in-house training and coaching

    2) Daily workload is a major influence on this decision. From what I can tell though, there are degrees of distance learning in that some providers will have a certain number of hours/days contact with candidates anyway.

  3. Arian Associates Ltd
You don’t mention which part of the country you are in Jo.

A new Training Conslutancy in the North East called PHOENIX TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT LTD has just hit the streets and the people involved are all ex FE Management Studies Lecturers with loads of ILM experience. They are going to be offering distance learning ILM programes at all levels – give them a try, the reputation of these guys in ILM circles is first class.

  4. Good providers of distance learning
I can recommend Elearn who have a wealth of experience of providing team leader and management qualifications via flexible and distance learning. They have a range of tried and tested study units which can be used to meet the requirements of different awarding bodies.
    Contact Tony Horsfield, Director. (Tony.Horsfield@Elearn.co.uk)
