Group Supervision Course Materials

default-16x9

I am seeking to develop an 'Introduction to Group Supervision' course (1-day / 2-day?) for a number of social care managers who have a responsibility for the supervision of a large number of staff.
I am specifically interested in getting across the message that group supervision is something different to team meetings and that, therefore, different skills/methods are required by an individual to carry out group supervision effectively.
I am keen to develop materials which allow participants to clearly identify the skills required and provide an opportunity during the course to carry out some skillls practice.
Does anyone know of any 'off the shelf' training materials currently available for purchase that could be used to put this course together?
Thanks in advance for your assistance with this.

The term ‘supervision’ is a little ambiguous and will mean different things to people working in different contexts. As this is a social care situation, are you using ‘supervision’ in a clinical sense in the same way that a therapist might have a supervisor? Or is this more of a team leader role? Or both?

  2. Supervision Context
    Hi Graham
This is supervision in a supportive/management context discussing with the supervisee workload management/support/learning & development needs/issues and also incorporating a mediation function, (though not all in one session!) It gives the employee the opportunity to have regular protected time to discuss work practice issues with their direct line manager, encouraging reflective practice within individuals.
