Hi, I'm working on a corporate induction for staff coming into our business that are not in a position to attend our standard call centre induction process. These staff could be directors, department heads or support staff. The induction consists of a welcome pack with key business information, a manager's checklist of processes to explain, health and safety etc, during an employee's first few weeks, and a welcome day.
This welcome day could be day one of employment or day thirty, or any in between, depending on their start date. I want to keep it light and welcoming, although there will be some HR procedures etc covered. Has anyone any ideas as to what I could include?

Does this help?
The company I work for runs a corporate induction day, which tells us all about the company. In my case though, I am working on one of our contracts at a totally different site and the kinds of things that I would have benefitted from on my first day on site were: site tour, who’s who, key contacts and how they can help me.
Something else…
Try http://www.businessballs.com I was just on there searching for something else and they have an induction checklist that you might find handy. Good Luck!
CIPD
Hi
Have a look on the CIPD website. They also have an Induction checklist
Welcome day
About the most important part of any welcome day is a personal welcome from the top – your CEO if at all possible.
Apart from that, I’d really question whether you can meet the needs of such a mixed group of people through one event.
Covering policies in any detail can be a killer, so try and get those added to the manager’s checklist. You could have a question and answer session to clear up any details, but that’s possibly best done on a one-to-one basis (perhaps having HR advisors on hand running mini surgeries).
I believe I live locally, so if you want to bounce any ideas off someone over a coffee, I’m happy to oblige.
Induction
Hi Stephen, with many of our clients, what makes the bigget difference is revisting the outcome of the day. Mist people design with the company policies in mind, or the usual wheeling in of ‘big cheeses’. But what do people really want? I’d suggest that by the end of the day new people want to really feel like they’ve made a great choice in coming to work for the business. If you design the day with this outcome in mind, the content may be similar but the emphasis and ‘delivery’ will certainly be different. Feel free to drop me a line if you’d like more ideas.
