Has anyone done any mediator training? If so, with whom - what was it like in style and content and would you recommend it?
Thanks
Jenny

Mediator Training
Have you tried ACAS?
Alternatively, your local housing department might use agencies involved in resolving neighbour disputes/anti social behaviour etc. They could signpost you
If all that fails I can dig out a couple of private training providers we have used in the past
Just e mail me if the first two options don’t work

Jennifer

Hi Jenny
Not sure where you are based but we have used Newport Mediation (South Wales based) for our training which was very well received.
The style was highly interactive and involved a lot of group work, role play and case studies, as well as some pre- and post-course work. We use it to help settle workplace disputes without recourse the grievance or disciplinary processes and evidence suggests that it is having a positive impact although it is early days so far.
I’m in the process of reviewing the training in preparation for a second wave and have been in touch with Newport Mediation, Midland Mediation, CEDR and ADR Group (you’ll find them all with a simple Google search.) All of whom came recommended to me.
I’ve found that costs vary wildly in this area whilst course content seems broadly similar.
