Where to from here?

default-16x9

Having recently completed my Certificate in Training Practise, I was wondering if members had any advice as to how to start using the skills and knowledge gained on the course in order to build up experience. I am currently in a HR Officer's role with no scope to move into the Training arena.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

  1. Training role
Your next step would be to look for an HR officer role that has training included in the jd and that would be a stepping stone to a full time training officer role if that is your career choice.

  2. Are you sure?
Hmmm… In an HR Officer role with no chance of training…

As I understand it there is a total shed-load of quite recent employment legislation, as well as long-standing stuff, that line managers need to be aware of if the organisation is to stay out of the tribunals.

That seems to be a potential opportunity…

To get started you may have to run a few sessions in your lunch hour,, and build up a reputation for being a competent trainer as well as providing useful, value-adding tools and knowledge.

    Good luck,
