As I train in First Aid under an HSE license I would like to know of an organisation who accredits Manual Handling courses as HSE do not. I have tried the Royal College of Nursing but as I train in all fields not just people handling they would not accept my syllabus and teaching plans as they said there was not enough detail of people handling which is not what the course was designed for. With the facilitaotrs course they said that nurses who would be interested in taking such a course would already have teaching skills, again the course was designed for the section supervisor in a warehouse not a sister on a ward. I am a member of Backcare (formerly the National Backpain Assoc) and they do not accredit anyone and the trainer they use only knows of the RCN. Any ideas?

Try good old Google
I suggest you go to http://www.google.co.uk and do a search for manual handling, confining it to the UK.
Then do a search within results for training.
Then do a search within results for accreditation.
Good luck!
Manual accreditation
Try ILM, providing the courses you want to accredit are for those with either management or supervisory duties you should be able to get an award dealt with. You will need to look at NVQ references for the levels as ILM look for cross match quals. If you need a hand let us know, Toni does all our accreditations and designs and can help.
Kind regards
