I'm delivering a 1-day time management course and have been given some tried & tested materials to use. They're good on theory but lacking in practical exercises to engage the learner and so are a little dull. Any ideas for simple exercises which would inject a bit of life and audience participation and help to reinforce learning?

In Tray Exercise
I’ve got a really good in-tray exercise which is good fun and also reinforces prioritisation, assessment, team working etc. If you let me have your email adress I’ll send it to you
TM exercises
Hi Louise, I have a ‘3 minute time test’I’d be happy to pass on, if you let me have your email address… it’s good fun, and shows how we each react when put under pressure of time…also a ‘poem’ on time…
Gill, would you mind passing on your in-tray exercise to me, too – I think I could put it to good use…
I’d be happy to pass on/swap training materials/ideas, etc to anyone that thinks we can support each other…
Kind regards to you both and thanx to everyone for all these interesting ‘nuggets’.

Short time management session
Dear Louise,
I do a 75 minute time management course (a longer time management course shows poor time management!) Basically, groups discuss what problems and issues they have with time management. I gather these on a whiteboard. The groups then go through all the issues, thinking of ways to reduce their impact. I then get these on the board, with discussion and some inputs along the way. This is very interactive and very effective, because it deals with the real time management issues participants have, not the issues the standard courses assume they have. Contact me for more details if you like.
3 minute exercise
Hi Louise, I’ve got to deliver a similar 1 day activity to yourself on time management and was wondering whether you received that 3 minute exercise and if you did how did it go? I’ve encountered similar problems of finding interesting, participative activities and if the excercise was beneficial I’d be grateful if you would email it to me.
Thanks in anticipation, Rob.
