NVQ Electrical Installation

default-16x9

I am currently working on a workforce development project and have a prospective client who is looking to take on and train young people in Electrical Installation, wiring etc. At the moment he does not want to go down the route of the LSC. Are there NVQs available in this area and which can be done solely in the workplace rather than attending college or training centre

  1. NVQ
    Hi Peter,

Try first of all the awarding bodies who accredit the NVQ, they will give you the training providers who deal with the one you want in the London area. Then you can approach them to see how they train and whether it can be workplace based. Try starting with City and Guilds as they are an awarding body that deals with the Electrical installation NVQ and are really helpful when phoned.

    Best of luck

  2. JTL or CITB
    Hello Peter

If you haven’t already tried them you should contact either:
JTL who were established by the Electrical Contractors Association and the Amalgamated Engineering & Electrical Union. They are the largest managing agent for the electrical contracting industry. Try their website at http://www.jtlimited.co.uk

or contact the Construction Industry Training Board at http://citb.org.au/

Either should be able to give you specific and knowledgeable advice.
