I am going for a 2nd interview on Weds 15th May and have been asked to design and deliver a 15 minute training session on either of these subjects: How to catch a shooting star OR How to become a successful Kangaroo Racer. The focus of the position is delivering customer service training and coaching. Does anyone have any ideas about how I can interpret these subjects into a training session?

Tough Interview Question
Hi Madeleine,
What exactly is your brief?
I would always ascertain the expected outcome of any training programme, but I would suggest that you should look carefully at the job specification and align your presentation accordingly.
I would opt for the shooting star scenario. A good analogy may be the requirement capture, to catch a shooting star. I would assume that you have no idea how achieve this (answers on a post card)! As with any training/coaching programme, you must first establish the expected outcome and work in reverse.
In your presentation, I would suggest that you discuss the key elements of successful training in your intended environment. I believe that the task set for you (the outcome) is considered unachievable, and feel that the exercise has two main objectives: your ability to deliver and the process you would adopt to achieve the goals of the post. Remember, no goal is too high if we climb with care and confidence.
If you would like me to expand on the idea, feel free to drop me a mail or give me a call. 07751 445222
Best of luck with the interview.
Kind regards,
Clive
