I am currently researching into developing an online learning management system. If anyone knows of compnaies who will provide off the shelf packages or design bespoke systems, this would be much appreciated.

Online LMS
Hi Kirsty
The Computer Software group provide an online LMS that should have nearly all the functionality you require straight out of the box. There web site is http://www.computersoftware.com. or contact them on 01625 258 601.

Online LMS
Hi Kirsty,
I would have no hesitation in recommending an online Learning Management System called Accessplan (we have been using for just short of 2 years). I believe you can purchase an off the shelf packaged or have the system tailored to you own requirements.
Their website address is http://www.accessplanit.com or Tel 01524 389841.
I hope this helps.

Moodle LMS
Hi Kirsty
Have a look at Moodle LMS, which is a free open source system used by tens of thousands of organisations and growining daily.
There is a review at http://www.kineo.co.uk/open-source-tools/moodle—your-free-lms-4.html
You can also have a look around a Moodle demo at http://www.kineolearning.com/demo.
Good luck.

Why don’t you have a look at the excellent focus system which has a good LMS system which can be stand alone or a part of a total talent management system.

Virtual college
Hi Kirstie
I found the LMS (or TMS) provided by Virtual College to be very helpful. I found it easy to create materials and to link in to existing materials on the internet or on Word and the learner interface was good. I used it for a year in connection with a skills development project I was involved in to explore elearning for a more learner driven environment. It is not free though so maybe the other options will suit your needs more.Their website is:

LMS – Oegen Ltd
Hi Kirsty
Is that the same Kirsty Hall as worked for Bass Brewers in Leeds some years ago (if so, you’ll remember me by my maiden name “Jones”). Anyway, if it is the same Kirsty, you’ll probably remember Paul Vernon who used to do a lot of IT work. Just before I left I helped his company (Oegen) install a LMS into Coors. I’ll happily pass on the details if you are interested
Enterprise Knowledge Platform
Another recommendation!!
Give me a call if you would like a demo of a world class LMS at extremely low prices.
I can let you have some case studies too that may help.
Brandon-Hall Network
We are currently in the process of implementing an LMS. We found Brandon-Hall’s research (www.brandon-hall.com) very useful to kickoff. They have plenty of resources some free and others available for a fee. You can find a list of their LMS vendors profiled by BH at: http://www.brandon-hall.com/publications/lmskb/lmskb_firms.shtml
online LMS
Hi Kirsty
We are Course-Source Ltd. We provide online hosted eLearning portals to more than 50 clients from SME to Multinational, both public and private sector, and deliver eLearning materials on a wide range of subjects developed on many different platforms.
Brandon Hall’s most recent report said of the Course Source LMS ‘a hosted solution with some robust features for entry-level LMS buyers’ ;‘for an entry-level LMS, the number of possible customisations is surprising. …if you are new to an LMS and primarily need to manage e-learning initiatives, cost alone makes Course-Source worth a second look. Because the solution is hosted and customisations are done by the company, hardware and technical expertise requirements are minimal.’
If you would like to find out how a Course-source portal can meet your specific needs, please email me kinskip@course-source.net
