Can anyone mail me direct any ideas that they have used for disability simulation training that is not patronising or indeed might strike some delegates as juvenile?
What works?
Warm thanks

No longer appropriate
The general thinking is that now it is not appropriate to have delegates simulate disability in order to understand the issues.
This is linked to the social model of disability which suggests that a person is disabled by society, rather than having something wrong with them. Simulation exercises give a false idea of disability.
