IIP in simple terms

My organisation are about to apply for continuing recognition and like many places IIP goes off the boil until there is an announcemnt of an impending assessment and then everyone starts running at 100mph. I need to quickly improve the level of knowledge of IIP within the L+D team to help the situation (and as a first step to keeping IIP on the agenda) and im looking for a simple, short guide that says something like -

across the standards senior managers must be able to demonstrate x,y,z. Managers a,b,c and people d,e,f.

Does anyone have such a guide for the new standard to save me having to reinvent the wheel and write one myself?

  1. Why not abandon it?
    Sorry if there is not much organisational commitment to the standard, unless you need it to get funding from the LSC or the like why not abandon it?

    Large volumes of businesses involved in the IIP process have reported no real benefits from the process. A quality standard should bring permanent quality improvements if you are looking for a “quick fix” then I would suggest that your improvements are not going to be permanent and therefore of no lasting business value. So why waste time and energy on it?
