Travelling on a Coach

default-16x9

We are about to test our continuity plans by despatching a coach load of colleagues to our contingency site which is an hours motorway drive away.

As there will be a captive audience I'd love to put this time to good use. Maybe stress management, relaxation techniques, memory skills, a quiz, anything really.

I'd like it to be as fun/interesting as possible to turn a boring journey into a productive one.

Anybody got any ideas / done anything like this before?

  1. A WEB SITE
    Hi there

my company is going through quite a rough time at the moment and to lift the mood, I downloaded some free stuff from http://www.businessballs.com to hand out.

There is loads of good stuff on there like funny answers given on Family Fortunes etc

They really gave us a lot of belly laughs for a hour and gave us a boost in a difficult time.

I’m sure if you hand them out on your trip, it will lift the mood a be a good tonic for the travellers.

    best wishes

    Clive

  2. The Office!!
    Liz

I would check with the provider of the bus to find out if it has video facilities. If it does, I would do play a suitable funny and yet meaningful video.

An example would be an episode (or two) of The Office, Fawlty Towers, etc. Something where there are obvious links to your workplace and how to get it wrong.

Both can provide some real examples of Stress, Relaxation, Equal Opps, Management. An as much as anything else it will get people talking…

The journey will be fun, productive and (for those like me with a weaker constitution), it won’t require me to ‘take part’ if I just want to close my eyes.

Whatever you do – GOOD LUCK!!

Training and learning works best in a condusive environment speaking personally I cant read a book on a coach or concentrate too hard, not being able to focus externally makes me feel queasy and I find I cant concentrate.
All I’m trying to say is dont make it too taxing I’d hate to be forced to learn in an environment I didnt feel comfortable in.
