Any Ideas on Setting up a Training Library

default-16x9

I have a collection of training materials compiled from the resources from a couple of different departments within the company. Some of the training materials are trainer's guides, some are CD Rom based and others are books, etc. Has anyone set up a library with their materials categorised efficiently and a system for lending (and therefore tracing when they go missing). We don't have much money to spend on this other than blood, sweat and tears!!

Yes I did such a scheme back in 1999 at Stannah starting from scratch – please ring me on 01962- 892658 and i’ll discuss it with you in more depth.

  2. Excellent Cheap Software for Libraries!
    Janice,

I have bought this piece of software in to replace the existing Access database used to manage a learning library consisting of books, video, audio, CD-Rom & Ad hoc material.

It has all the facilities you need for any kind of library and one of the best features is… give it a list of ISBN numbers… tell it to “Fetch!” and it will source from the web all the information on the book, from publisher to author to blurb it finds it all.

It provides a facility to drive web pages so users can interact directly over a web interface. You can even store scans of the cover to display on screen.

All of this and much more for a mere $39 (Yes… dollars!)

They offer a free 30 day trial so download it and try it out.

    Kindest
