Grateful for any activities that could be used in an assessment centre environment.
In particualr to observe competenices in the areas of drive, results orientation and passion for excellence.
I have already a few that I ahve always used and am now seeking new materials.
Any suggestions, gratefully received.

Thank you

  1. Assessment Exercises
Nina – I would like to know your other required competencies for assessment to be really helpful. Most useful assessment exercises may well need to provide valuable (and valid!) evidence of other competencies required, to fit into a busy assessment timetable!

But some suggestions to be going on with, for drive, results orientation and excellence?

A Group Discussion or Exercise, if team-interaction is important (most usually?); a Role Play such as a customer/employee complaint if commercial or employee awareness is also vital (very commonly?>; or even a tailored Case Study if it is vital to isolate individual contributions?

I suspect your request was actually for a specific exercise? But much better, for vital candidate face-validity and organisational relevance, to create your own? (This also ensures your candidates have not already seen it before!)

Let me know if you are not sure how to do this? Jeremy@qedconsulting.co.uk

    Best wishes!

    Jeremy

  2. Recruitment or development
Nina, just a thought of which you are probably aware, but whilst it is important to validate any exercises for use on an assessment centre, you need to be particularly careful with recruitment assessment centres to ensure that the competencies and exercises used are both valid and relevant.
