I would appreciate any feedback/experiences that could help me come up with a new way of carrying out performance management and objective setting for Production staff.
I would like to hear about any formats that are currently used for staff that have limited time to carry out Performance management objectives.
Thanks a lot
Lucy

simple PM approach
Hi Lucy
I have a very simple one which was origionally designed for housekeeping staff in a large private hospital. Since then it has been used in many diff. organisations. I am away from the office this week and can send you a copy next week or you can download it from http://www.trainerbase.co.uk and search in the downloads for “Appraisal form” I have also loaded a managers guide to appraisals you may also find of value.

make time?
Hi Lucy,
Good luck with your project sounds a bit of a toughy! My perception may be incorrect but my reaction is “Is there another way to address this issue?”
Can time be made available? Before/after work. Has the production process been reviewed from the perspective that time needs to be freed in order to achieve important development needs. (I have been involved in Operations and have yet to encounter a process that cannot be “slimmed”)
If the operatives cover one another (Cigarette breaks etc) can this ability be used for organisational benefit.
What about asking the people themselves-they are often the source of valuable information. Recognising those who do achieve their objectives can help motivate others. I used to give people pocket diaries and worked with them so they would record evidence for appraisals.
My other thought is that if the objectives cannot be achieved because of time constraints then are the objectives “realistic”?
You may have already considered the above in which case I hope I have not offended you.
If you want to talk this through by all means call or email me.

Performance Management
Hello Lucy
We produced an e-learning course for one of the major councils on Performance Management, allowing the users to log in when they could and complete the course in stages. A database also provided tracking of the users and who had completed the course.
Let me know if you would like to see an example? We have the ability to tailor this course or to build you another completely bespoke piece.
Let me know if you would like to see it?
Regards
Rachel Parker
