I am looking to organise a team building day for our customer services team who are performing very well at the moment.
The aim of the day it to have some fun but ultimately to bring the team closer together and facilitate greater team working. I would like it to be outside too.
We are based in London so anywhere around the M25 would be good. Recommendations only please!

Fun Team building day
A massive reccomendation has got to be for Wild Track Buisness solutions on 01442 877 172. Ask for Mick Earle. He does some fantastic, high energy, as challenging as you like stuff!
Fun teambuilding day
Hi Andrew
I have used a splendid facility, formerly known as Vertigo, now known as bhp inspiring events. It’s a low and high level ropes course where the emphasis is on challenge by choice. It’s great for building team, exploring team and reinforcing team spirit and there is something there for everyone evn those who cannot cope with heights. Contact Kate Hallam Events Manager on 01454 775541 and/or check out their website on http://www.corporate-events-uk.com

Unique Team Building Events
Hi Andrew,
I can highly recommend a company called Unique Events, based at Wokefield just off Junction 11 of the M4 outside Reading. They have the largest ropes course in Europe.
I work with senior management teams in large organisations and used one of their scenario based programmes, ‘Entrepreneur’, with one of my client teams. The results were exceptional -the team was delighted and as a result decided to send all their line managers on the same event.
The positive impact of the event has continued and other parts of the organisation have commented on how effective the team is even more effective now!
I suggest you call Kevin Marsdon on 0118 933 2222, or visit their web site http://www.unique-events.co.uk

If in doubt – ask!
Hi Andrew,
Having run a lot of team builds I wanted to offer a word or two of caution.
Rather than impose an event which may seem like fun, why not ask the team to decide what they want to do?
Does the event have to be facilitated or organised? Or could you decide to, say, go to a lovely Health Farm for the day and have individual pampering and a special team lunch? Could you get a Sports Coach and, say, learn a new sport together for the day?
What about making music together? Or going on a watercolour painting course for the day?
What I would suggest is that you avoid anything over analytical or soul-bearing, just in case hidden resentments surface and there is a team breaking rather than a building. Also, avoid anything which sets people up to be overly competitive or push them too far out of their comfort zone.
Instead, why not focus on celebrating the special things which make the
team work well together.
I like to help people to look at how they can help each other to shine in their life and work. By focusing on the positive, it is possible to boost morale and celebrate successes, whilst still having a memorable “team day out”.
Good luck, and if you want to chat, please feel free to phone me on 01491 826704, or email me on vanessa@thetruelifecompany.com

Just have fun…
If the team is performing well then I wouldn’t do too much hand wringing about using the event for learning and transfer back into the workplace(Mary fell off the trapeze because Bob didn’t communicate the mission type feedback is hardly ever successful)
Use the event to celebrate and reinforce success, Have a few drinks and let people realx and enjoy themselves – there will be ‘teaming’ enough in that. Hey everyone has worked hard and we are doing well – lest take a day out to do something different and have some fun and a meal together.
