Having joined a new company, I have been asked to assist them with planning in the provision of training for the disaster recovery plan. This ISN'T training IN disaster recovery, but what we would do if we had to bring in new staff to replace existing staff (lets not think about what may prompt this!). I think I have got the fundamentals in place (provision of space, access to terminals, back-up documentation) but can't help feeling like I am missing something. So therefore if you had to get your organisation up and running after a major incident, what would you make sure you had in your contingency plan? Regards, Jacquie

I’ve some examples of disaster recovery plans which have a large emphasis on bringing in new staff at that time. DRP’s with new staff requirements are quite common here in New Zealand, probably because we are in an earthquake / volcano zone and large numbers of employees have civil defence, volunteer emergency service or volunteer military committments in times of civic disaster.
